November 10, 1921 - May 19, 2013 With his family by his side, Florencio Gutierrez Sr. passed away at Health Sciences Centre at the age of 91. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marcelina, children Regino (Remy), Isidro (Luisa), Nelia (Villamor), Arcadia, Fe, Hilario (Mina), Florentina (Edgar), Rizalina (Victor), Gavino (Carol), Florencio Jr. (Caridad), Jose (Merly), Felix (Marivic), 36 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Florencio was born in Cabanatuan, Philippines. His pride and joy was his big family and he was happiest during family gatherings. He was hardworking, loving, generous, and an inspiration, not only to his family but also to people who knew him. Coming to Canada on September 26, 1979, he worked at the Manitoba Club for 11 years. He had a strong work ethic, was well liked and respected by his manager and colleagues. Tatang has achieved many goals in life. His latest and greatest achievement was building his dream home in the Philippines, which he was very proud of. He did this so that he'll be remembered forever for his hard work. Tatang was a very strong person. Although he was sick, he fought hard to stay until the end. A sincere thank you to Dr. Malabanan, CancerCare Manitoba, Doctors Kumar and Dao, staff at CancerCare Manitoba and GH7 for their compassionate care. Lamay will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 and Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Prayers will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at St. Edwards Church, 818 Arlington Street. Reception will follow at Glen Lawn Reception Centre. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550
