Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA POIRIER (MCLEAN-WHITEHEAD) June 2, 1939 - May 16, 2013 Peacefully, with her loving children by her side, Mom passed away on May 16, 2013. She will be sadly missed. Left to cherish wonderful memories are her children Nancy (Daryl), Jo-Anne, Sandra (Phil), Tracey (Robin), Kenneth (Barb), grandchildren Derek (Chantel), Sean (Emma), Kyle, Sydney, Brooke and Dylan. She is also survived by her brother Richard, sisters Katherine and Beverley, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom loved to travel, her computer, reading, gardening, her cherished friendships, and Yes, doing laundry, but her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mom had a loving, generous, giving heart with an amazing sense of humour which carried her through her numerous illnesses over the years. We always said mom had nine lives, sadly she needed 10. Cremation has taken place at Gilbart Funeral Home Ltd. According to her wishes a private ceremony was held by her children. Her children would sincerely like to thank Dr. John Lee and the nursing staff at the CICU at the St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favourite charity as Mom always wanted to help everyone. Mom taught us to be strong and independent, and we will honour her by being just that. A Mothers Love... Your arms were always open when we needed a hug, Your heart understood when we needed a friend, Your gentle eyes were stern when we needed a lesson, Your strength and love has guided us and gave us wings to fly.

I am deeply saddened upon reading this since I had not known. Pat was a big part of my life when I was a teen when I spent a summer with her in Selkirk. She helped me through many things and showed me lots of love and never stopped caring which has been in my heart throughout these years. I have been living in Alberta now for the past 9 years and have thought of her often. My apologies for this being so late but my heart goes out to her family and friends. Mom it has been just over a month and it is not getting easier without you in it. Miss you so you terribly much. The only comfort I can get is knowing you are resting in Peace and have no more suffering. I will see you again one day my Mamma. Love and miss you.
