RUTH SIRKIS RACKLIN Peacefully on June 5, 2013 at the age of 90. Graveside service Friday, June 7, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Ruth was born in Winnipeg in 1923 to Mandil and Lily Minuk. She is survived by her son, Ron (Esther), grandchildren Hartley Sirkis (Meghan Hamill), Tama Sirkis (Jordan Bender) and Mira Sirkis, great-grandchildren Ella and Mila Sirkis, and Daniel, Maya and Lyla Bender, her sister Doris Steiman, brother Bert Minuk and Sam Minuk (Ruby) and sisters-in-law Esther and Zena Minuk, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sarah and Morley Wolovick, and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by husbands Hy Sirkis and later Lawrence Racklin, daughter Debra Lou, her brothers Bill and Julius Minuk; brother-in-law Kappy Steiman, and sisters-in-law Lola Minuk and Marion Minuk, nephew Randy Minuk and great-nephew Mark Steiman. Ruth loved her family very much. Her relationship with her daughter Debra Lou was especially close and she took great pride in her son Ron, his wife Esther and their family. Spending summers in Gimli with her children, grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews was a special joy for her. Later the exploits of her great-grandchildren brought reams of laughter and satisfaction to her. She will be missed by all of her family.
