SOFIA ALBIS It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Sofia Albis on June 5, 2013. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ramon, daughter Concepcion, son Rodolfo, as well as eight of her siblings. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Moises (Merly), daughters Paz, Pura, Sylvia, Ana, and daughter-in-law Aging as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren here and in the Philippines. Also, left to cherish her memory are her sisters: Remy and Gertrude (Philippines), as well as numerous loving families and friends that she adored. Nanay was a lady of few words but lots of smiles, welcoming everyone with love and promising only the purest memories of kindness. Lamay (Viewing) will be from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, Friday, June 7, 2013 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral Service will also be held at the chapel at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2013 with interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. She treated me like one of her own. She was a big help in raising my children. Her family was very important to her. What I'll miss most is her singing around the house and a smile as big as the sun to bring in a joyous day. She was a strong lady, despite her hardship she always sees beyond the problems of yesterday and look forward to a new tomorrow. She was a mother to me just as my own. I will miss her dearly, she has opened the gates for the birth of my grandson, her great-grandson in September. I love and miss you Nanay.
