Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROL ANN ROGERS It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Carol Ann Rogers at the age of 65, on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Riverview Health Centre. Carol leaves to cherish her memory her only son Brad Darragh, daughter-in-law Debbie and her beloved grandchildren Ryan (12), Madison (seven) and Brooke (five). Carol will be greatly missed by her brother Michael Vernon, wife Dee and nephews (St. Louis, MO) and her stepmother Joy Vernon (Medford, OR) and her many friends. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all who cared for her. As per Carol's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. A private family gathering will be held to intern her ashes and celebrate her life, at a later date. Her laughter, kindness and love will be greatly missed! I happened to come across this notice quite by accident. I hadn't been in touch with Carol for a number of years so was absolutely stunned by her passing. I was sad to hear of her passing. Carol was a smart, intelligent, and funny person with a big heart and a kind demeanour. I always like to joke that often in our professional relationship working as auditors together we didn't see eye to eye on everything, but I always left every conversation and interaction learning and growing to appreciate that differences we bring to the table and a respect for using the power of those differences to achieve positive outcomes. If things around us feel a little more grey by a light diminished, it is only because that light now has the opportunity to shine more brightly in the sky above us. When I told my wife of Carol's passing, she said "Carol was one of a kind". Carol was indeed one of a kind, and I too shall miss her and think of her often. I was an IBM co-worker back in the late 90s, and Carol and I and other IBM audit team members truly enjoyed our worldwide travels and each other's company. I did my best to keep in touch with her in these later years, and was saddened by the contents of her correspondence, reading about her illness. I worked with Carol at IBM for several years and both my wife and I traveled with Carol to many countries around the world ... Carol was always a bright and shining light and although I have been retired from IBM for more than 12 years Carol and I stayed in touch and each communication was as if we had just returned from some foreign trip and were planning our next one ... I for one will miss her friendship and her smile ...
