Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT DENIS ST. GODARD June 4, 1956 - May 31, 2013 Don't be sad and raise a glass for me! Robert "Bob" St. Godard, aged 56, of Winnipeg, MB passed away on May 31, 2013 with dignity and bravery. He leaves behind his loving daughters, Leigh-Anne St. Godard and Kristen St. Godard, both of Medicine Hat, AB. His girls were fortunate to be able to express their loving sentiments to their dad up until his final moments. He will be forever in the hearts of his nine grandchildren and his one great-grandson. He loved his girls very much and enjoyed his moments with his grandkids whenever he had the chance. Robert will be cherished with many great memories by his mom, Yvette St. Godard, his sister Suzanne Fell (Richard), his brother Claude St. Godard (Darlene) and his baby sister Gisèle Préfontaine (Raymond). Robert had many nephews and nieces. When he had the opportunity to spend time with them, he made sure it was a good time filled with laughs and a little bit of teasing. He had a big heart and so much love for family. He was predeceased by his dad Armand St. Godard. Robert missed his dad very much. Suzie had a dream not long ago that dad was calling Bob to come and join him. Dad said it was beautiful. They are reunited once again. Robert was a man who lived one day at a time. Even when facing the challenges in his life, Robert still managed to find humour and share a good laugh in the company of family and friends. Some of his time was spent hanging out at his favourite place, the Vendome Hotel, with beer in hand and listening to Johnny Cash. Robert was also known as Bobby Cash for his singing talent "A Burning Ring of Fire". Until three weeks ago, he would manage to find just enough strength to go visit his buddies at the Vendome Hotel. CHEERS!!! Robert was a very reliable and hard worker. He was always willing to help anyone when needed. He will be missed by his co-workers at Texcan where he operated a forklift. During the eight months of his illness, Robert managed to remain positive and show his sense of humour by calling his sister Gisèle his "warden" with his signature grin. This man, our dad, grandpa, son, brother and uncle is a true example that life is to be lived simply, surrounded with people who love you and who respect you for who you are, all without passing judgment. Our family would like to express their utmost gratitude for the most amazing tender loving care he received at Jocelyn House Hospice. Robert was such a proud man who lived life on his own terms. The nursing and support staff at the hospice were very understanding and appreciated Robert for who he was and respected his need to be independent for as long as he needed to be. They are an amazing group of people who define love and compassion. Robert's final wishes were simple. No frills. Robert was always fond of lakes and rivers and nature of all sorts and, as such, his final resting place will be overlooking a pond at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Our family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and visits with Robert during the final stages of his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jocelyn House Hospice at 177 Egerton Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 2W7 or at www.jocelynhouse.ca Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.
