  • I was very sorry to hear about Dave. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, Diane. I have many wonderful fond memories of the evenings spend at Montebello! - Posted by: Val and Lloyd Voth (friend) on: Jul 26, 2013

  • I just learned of Dave's passing today July 25th. I am so sorry to hear this news. Dave was my "boss" at my very first job after I completed high school. He taught me what hard work was all about and was very fair to me personally. Lessons I learned from Dave I applied to the rest of my working career. I know how much he loved Diane. Barb and I send our deepest condolences. - Posted by: Bill Clarke (Co-worker with Dave at Winnipeg Inn) on: Jul 25, 2013

  • My deepest sympathies to Diane and all of David's family. I knew David through the Legend Condo community and also through my best fiend Niki (David's niece). David was always so friendly and kind. He would check in with me to make sure everything was OK and offered to lend a hand. You could tell He and Diane were truly in love. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Rachelle Berard (Friend) on: Jun 21, 2013

  • Dave and I had a lot of great times growing up in Norwood. Sad to see he has passed - Posted by: Ray Miron (Norwood Friend) on: Jun 21, 2013

  • On occassion, My best friend Dan and I would bike to visit his cool uncle Dave. I recall how "Uncle" Dave treated us kids with kindness and respect. Thanks Dave. I am sure you touched many lives as you have mine. - Posted by: Ian Fingler (Friend) on: Jun 21, 2013

  • My Uncle David was thee kindest most giving man! He was the one always there for you when you needed him. He and my Auntie Diane shared the truest love...it was an inspiration to all!!! I loved him dearly and will truly miss him but I know his spirit is always with us! - Posted by: Lisa Johnstone (Niece) on: Jun 20, 2013

  • My brother David....he was often there for me when I was down about a boyfriend when we were younger. He'd take me for a ride in his mustang for ice cream and try to cheer me up. Yes, he probably caused my pet monkey to get pneumonia by taking him for rides in his convertible to pick up girls, but I forgive him. He was there for me when I needed him. Everytime I came to Winnipeg from Ontario, he and Diane would take me out for dinner or have me over. I had hopes that they might move to Wasaga Beach and be closer, but that just wasn't meant to be. He had a wonderful wife and partner in Diane. She was by his side right to the end. I will miss my brother terribly. I hope he and my Dad are having a few laughs together. Rest peacefully David. - Posted by: Elaine Galletta (sister) on: Jun 20, 2013

  • Today my Uncle David will be laid to rest. His fight with cancer was very fast and cancer won. I will always remember going to Winnipeg with my mom and seeing him at christmas, but the summers were the best. I remember him always having Tahiti Treat when we went over and played in the pool. He was always willing to play ping pong with me too. He was cool with me bugging him about being the one who killed my mom's monkey by taking it for rides in his convertible to pick up girls. I will always remember that he and my Auntie Diane were always together, always hand in hand, side by side and my heart breaks for her because she has lost her true love. My heart also goes out to my Grandma, such a strong woman who has to bury her child at the age of 96. There is no money in the cure which is very sad and frustrating since it seems more and more people are killed by cancer every day. There are treatments, yes, but no cures that are available. I love you and will miss you dearly Uncle David, you can rest now in peace. - Posted by: Ashlee Galletta (niece) on: Jun 20, 2013

  • I can recall growing up with my larger than life older cousin. I know he'll be missed by his loving wife and family. May God be near to you all as you grieve his loss. - Posted by: Barb and Cam Prefontaine (cousin) on: Jun 19, 2013
