GWEN PROUT It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gwen, on July 4, 2013. Auntie Gwen was born in Fraserwood, MB on March 13, 1920 to Winifred and Tytus Skirzyk. She lived most of her life in Winnipeg until moving to Toronto in 1949 to marry Uncle Harold who she knew since childhood. After nearly 40 years there, they moved back home to watch Lisa, Stephen, Mark and Brooke grow up. The family spent many happy weekends at their house where Auntie Gwen could be found at her "post" (kitchen island) baking and cooking for everyone. We never left there hungry. She loved to do crossword puzzles, play cards with friends and enjoy her life at home. Gwen was a beautiful person inside and out and lived her life with grace and commitment. We were blessed with her love, support and generosity. Predeceased by her soulmate Harold in May of 2010 and siblings Gordon, Kenneth and Marlene, she is survived by the Reid, Grandpre, Rhodes, Remillard, Edwards and Alwis families. We would like to thank Lion's Manor staff for their amazing care and compassion. Auntie Gwen left there with dignity and respect. A private gathering will be held at a later date. Safe journey A.G. You will never be forgotten.
