RENE BLAIS May 31, 1917 - July 13, 2013 Peacefully, on Saturday, July 13, 2013 Rene Blais passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 96 years. Rene is survived by his wife, Georgette (née Courchaine) and his six children, George (Claudette), Gilberte Krahn (Bill), Laurette L'Heureux, Donald (Darlene), Monique Yeo and Marc (Vicky). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. A special thank you to his "angel" Wanda from Home Care. In keeping with Rene's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Manitoba Chapter would be appreciated by the family. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. RENE BLAIS It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Rene Blais on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 96 years. In keeping with Rene's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street.   • Working at Fort Richmand mall (shoppers Drug) I knew Lash, if you still are called that. I remember her dad and mother. Cucumbers etc. Beautiful couple. I was so saddened to see his picture in the paper. Knew him right away. My deepest thoughts are with you, at this time of adjustment.   • I worked at the Safeway warehouse for 18 years and Rene was one of those people who always brought sunshine to my day. His smiling face, funny jokes and stories made everyone laugh. Rene had a special glint in his eyes when he chatted about family and he was so proud of all of you.
