HUGUETTE LIWISKI July 25, 1958 - September 1, 2013 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our sister Huguette "Yogi" Liwiski on Sunday, September 1, 2013. Yogi was predeceased by her mother Estelle Bouchard, her father Eloie Bouchard and her brother-in-law Bert Vermette. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters; Carole, Odette (Bob), Marlene (Frank) her best friend, confidant and brother Marcel (Maggie), and brother Clem (Kathy). Her nieces and nephews, Linda (Darcy), Roger (Tracy), Michel (Lana) Guy, Stephane, France, her uncle Réal (Zina), as well as many great-nieces and nephews. Yogi worked at the Norwood Hotel for 26 years. She started as a waitress in 1987 and ended her career as Bar and Restaurant Manager. She will be missed and remembered by her staff as being strict but fair. She made numerous friends in her years and that was well noticed in her last few weeks. Yogi enjoyed spending her time with family, either playing cards, going out for dinner, attending BBQ's or just sitting around chatting and having coffee. She had the opportunity to vacation in Mexico on more than one occasion, and she looked forward to going back. Her attitude in life was "It is what it is". We would like to thank Bob and Diane Sparrow, Rick and Pat Sanfilippo and Carmen Pinette for their continuous support throughout this time. In keeping with Yogi's wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. The family would like to extend our thanks to the St. Boniface Pallative Care Unit for their constant care and nurturing. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Huguette may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. • Yogi and I worked together for 10 years at the Norwood. She was an amazing boss, mentor, friend and confidant. I had the opportunity to be Yogi's Assistant Manager and when she went on holidays I was to fill her shoes. Honestly she wore a size 48 shoe. What an amazing individual with more energy and patience than anyone I have known. I will truly miss our time together as Yogi became the big sister I always wanted. • I worked with Yogi for almost 5 years at the Norwood, and we became good friends. I have many great memories of Yogi, selling tix at the Christmas staff parties, sharing chocolate, letting her experience many types of food, (mostly spit out) and I have proof she did know how to text! I will miss her very much, as will many many others. - Posted by: Debbie Zimmerman (Co worker) on: Sep 07, 2013
