BILL HIEBERT It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Bill Hiebert on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, 16 days before his 67th birthday. He passed peacefully at St. Boniface Palliative Care with family, Dr. Joanna and Nurse Miranda by his side. Since Bill's diagnosis of a brain tumour in February, 2012, he has held a positive attitude and managed to find joy in every day. He will be sadly missed by wife Marilyn, son Jarrett (Eva), daughter Tracy (Marshall), mother Nora, mother-in-law Kay Scalzo and granddaughters Paris and Lauren along with many other family members and friends. Bill realized at a very young age that giving up is not an option. He left home at the age of 15 to work and went back to school at 22 to receive a college degree. He loved working with people and his interest in business fostered 36 great years at the helm of Aztec Painting and Decorating. Bill also owned and operated Buy Right Flooring for 23 years. Both venues offered Bill new and exciting ways to interact with people and express his insight and creativity in interior and exterior design. Bill's strong work ethic was a wonderful model for which his employees soon adopted and integrated as their own. Bill always loved going to work and found great joy spending his days with his boys' Kyle and Ian. Travelling was a yearly trip south; Hawaii, Las Vegas and more recently to his son's home in Fort Lauderdale. Frequent trips were made in the summer to the sprint car races in Grand Forks where he and Marilyn loved to spend time. Bill was famous for being a perfectionist, whether it be shiny tires on his mint Jimmy or slicing a turkey on a Christmas platter. He prided himself in doing things the best that he knew how and that meant keeping up with technology no matter how difficult or long it took. Bill loved his family and was so very proud of us all. His home was his sanctuary and he took great pride and pleasure in maintaining it. He was a joy to be around with his laughter and famous stories. Bill was always positive and motivated. We have been blessed that he has left us with wonderful memories that we will continue to reflect and draw from as we move forward. He will be dearly missed. Our family would like to thank all our wonderful extended' families and friends who have supported us through our journey. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. We would also like to thank Dr. Salbrig, Dr. Krcek, Dr. Schroeder, the staff at CancerCare Manitoba and Health Sciences Centre RR6. As well we would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to the amazing staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care; Dr. Joanna, Dr. Ted, Dr. Crawford and all the ward staff. Your delicate touch and understanding will echo in our hearts forever. Please join us Thursday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Norwood Hotel, 112 Marion Street, to celebrate Bill's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's name to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. http://www.braintumour.ca/ The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. Having known Bill since I was a teenager I was saddened to hear of his passing. Bill set a high standard in everything he did and that included Coffee Breaks. This was his office and den for doing business and socializing. If he wasn't on his phone he was in conversation with someone and was always positive in his attitude. I consider myself lucky to have known him and I know he will be missed by everyone who did know him. - Posted by: Tom Lillyman (Friend) on: Oct 07, 2013

Bill was so outgoing that he would always help everyone And anyone. I have so many times called on him for advice and he has always been a help or would suggest an answer for my problem. He was a very brave Man at the end of his time on earth as I last visited him a week or days before he was hospitalized and he was in a Good Day, and we had a laugh as he showed me how he manoeuvred the steps to kitchen from the Family Room. Bill loved his Family and he was blessed that all are so close, They are all Best Friends ,, ,I send my Love to All ...Hugs Karen - Posted by: Karen Clifford (Very good Friend) on: Oct 06, 2013
