JAMES SANFORD HALLIDAY Peacefully on October 1, 2013, James Sanford Halliday passed away at the age of 77. He will be missed by his children Gary (Denise), Wendy, Debbie (Garry), Don and his beloved grandchildren Chatal and Ryan; sister Helen, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Blain (Dorothy), Gail (Wally), Ronnie (Yvonne) and Florence; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. James is predeceased by his loving wife Yvonne of 55 years; parents Allan and Vera; brothers-in-law Harold and Glenn; sister-in-law Phyllis; and many dear friends and family. James was born in Elm Creek on June 18, 1936 and married Yvonne Grapentine on January 25, 1958. They moved to Transcona and raised their family while he worked at Canada Post for 37 years. He was an outdoors man at heart and spent much of his time hunting, fishing, trap shooting and visiting every garage sale in the Transcona area. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the care and compassion shown by the staff at Poseidon Personal Care Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
