RITA LECOMTE (nee GINGRAS) Peacefully, on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the age of 83, Rita passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital with family by her side. Rita was born on June 8, 1930 in Torquay, SK. She was a very busy woman working by her husband's side in their meat cutting business, and taking care of four children. Rita will be remembered for her patience, generosity, humbleness, and great love for her children, Gildas (Annette), Lilliane (Ron), Aline (Daniel), Denise (Rene), her nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and her amazing faith in God. Rita is survived by her four sisters, Aurore (Jean), Bella, Yvonne, Lucille (Robert). Rita is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Leon, her brothers Omer, Roger, Herve, Remi, and her sisters, Aline, Geraldine, Irene. The family would like to thank St. Boniface Palliative Care for the care, laughs and love they provided for Rita. A celebration of Rita's life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 252 Dubuc, Winnipeg, with Father Martin presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rita may be made to the the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
