Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGINA AMY MONTGOMERY (nee CLINE) Peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Grace Hospital, Georgina Montgomery passed away. She was born in Souris, Manitoba on January 17, 1926 and resided in Elgin, Manitoba until the passing of her father George Cline in 1943. The family moved to St. Norbert, where mom attended High School and graduated in 1945, on completion of school she worked for the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce as a stenographer. Later she worked for Metropolitan Securities and Beaver Lumber. In 1947 she met and married Gordon, from the time they were married she resided in St. Vital ( a total of 66 years in the same house) until she could no longer care for herself and was moved to Tuxedo Villa Care Home in July of 2013. During mom's life she was an avid sports woman, playing tennis and softball in her younger years and golf, curling and five pin bowling during the later ones. Georgina was a long time supporter of the St. Vital Legion, until its closing, both as a ladies auxiliary and associate member. In addition to her father she was predeceased by Gordon (2005) her mother Albertine Cline (nee Grouette) in 1982, her brother Ronald (1930), and her sisters Ruth (2008 )and Francis Joyce (2013). Georgina will be lovingly remembered by; one daughter Margaret (David) in Okanagan Falls, BC, three sons Allan (Carol) of Winnipeg, George (Pat) of Winnipeg and Robert (Gaylene) of Kamloops BC, six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Anita Gauthier and Claire and Robert Cheys, her neighbours in St. Vital for watching over her for these last few years. Also we would like to thank the staff of Tuxedo Villa Care Home and Grace Hospital for their care during the last few months and days. Complying with mom's wishes cremation has already taken place and there will be no service. Donations can be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
