GORDON L. POERSCH It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Gordon L. Poersch on Thursday, December 26, 2013, at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 76 years. Gordon is survived by his wife, Ernestine, daughter, Shannon (Mark), grandchildren, Erin and Kelsey, brother, Ron, sister, Sherron and her family. Gordon retired in 2010 after a successful career, he was owner and CEO of Western Fabrics, past owner of P P Sporting Goods, and was a sales rep for both Wolch's and Brownstone Clothing. He was active in the community and giving of his time as a member of the Kinsmen Club of St. Boniface, he is a past member of the Gyro Club of Winnipeg, and was president of Juvenile football in Manitoba for many years. Gordon had many friends in both the business and sports world, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In keeping with Gordon's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Gordon can be made to Hematology at CancerCare Manitoba. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO.
