Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE JACQUELINE TYACKE (nee COLE) June 27, 1938 January 6, 2014 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Alice Tyacke a devoted friend, daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family, friends and the unwavering love and dedication of her husband of 53 years, Sgt. Eugene Tyacke. To cherish her loving memory are her husband Eugene; daughter Debbie; son Tim; son-in-law Dale; grandchildren Jenna (Shawn), Robert, Richard, Kaylynn, Kenzie and Michelle; brother Russell; niece's Jenny and Darlene; nephew Carl; considered to be a second daughter Kelly; and many other lifelong friends and family. Alice was predeceased by her mother Hazel Cole; father Courtney MacCarthy; sister Kathleen; brothers Harry and Ernest. Alice was born in Sackville, New Brunswick on June 27, 1938 and married her best friend Sgt. Eugene Tyacke on September 16, 1960. They lived in many places across Canada and Europe; but it was beautiful British Columbia that captured their hearts and where they settled for many years before moving back to Winnipeg. Alice enjoyed travelling and spending winters in Arizona; but what she loved the most was spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, swimming in her pool, making her famous milkshakes, playing games and cards. We are all blessed to know we have a beautiful guardian angel watching over us. Till we meet again, may God bless you and keep you in his care. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at the Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care. A thank you goes out to her friends at the Poseidon Care Centre who made an impact on her life, with an extra special thank you to Charlene for her thoughtfulness and love. A celebration of Alice's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Manitoba Alzheimer Society. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

I loved getting to know Alice at the lake. Her sense of humor was evident at all times and I could see the love of her family in the help and care they gave to her as her health declined. She accepted and gave friendship freely and always added something special when she visited the lake. I felt privileged to attend her last birthday party and again witnessed the love of her family and friends. I will miss Alice's visits at the lake, but I'll think of her when we enjoy the sunshine on the deck overlooking the water. - Posted by: Pat Goertzen () on: Jan 13, 2014
