IRENE DORIS LANGE It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, Irene Doris Lange at the St. Norbert Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her mother, father, brother and brother-in-law. Her memory will be cherished by husband, Harry, children, Michael and Carola, grand-daughter, Stephanie, son-in-law Bryan, step and great-grandchildren, sister, cousin, and all relatives overseas in Germany. Irene was born in Laussnitz, Germany on April 15, 1927. Irene and Harry married in 1953 and then immigrated with Michael in 1956 to Winnipeg. Mutti was an exceptional seamstress and worked out of her home. Throughout the years she became well known for her custom made wedding dresses and built up a large clientele sewing until she was 80. Irene had a love for life which showed in her passion for gardening, sewing, baking and cooking. Weekends were spent out at the cottage and you could always find her in the half acre garden. She loved baking and the family always benefited from new cakes recipes which she brought back from Germany when visiting her sister. Mutti was the heart of the family and always made sure we had enough to eat and cooked more than enough. Sunday's were always the days when we got together and enjoyed her exceptional cooking and on special occasions she ensured everyone got their favourite dish. Mutti loved her dogs and the house was full with little daschunds running around to keep her occupied. Mutti is remembered by her outgoing nature, always smiling and taking on each venture with humour and determination. Mutti was a unique women who worked too hard and the most selfless person we know. Funeral service will be held on January 14, 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Norbert Nursing Home for their care and compassion. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Irene's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.
