STANLEY JAMES ALFRED STRONG November 4, 1931 - January 10, 2014 It is with great sadness and deep sorrow the family announces the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Stanley James Alfred Strong on January 10, 2014 at Concordia Hospital at the age of 82. Stan was predeceased by his wife Claire, parents Adam and Dorothy, sisters Faye, Myrtle, Gwen and Irene, brothers Laurie, Robert, Gordon, Maurice, Norman and special friend Eileen. He leaves to mourn his son James (Mindy), granddaughters Shay and Amanda (Jason), and great-grandchild Elijah. He also leaves his sisters Jean, Joan and Shirley and many nieces, nephews and friends. Stan was born and lived the early part of his life in South Transcona. He worked in the C.N.R. Transcona Shops, for Reimer's Trucking and finally for Dominion Bridge, from which he retired in 1996. He loved boxing and was very involved in his younger years winning many awards. He continued to be an avid sports fan until his last days. Thank you to the Concordia Hospital Oncology Unit and the N1 south for their care and assistance over the past months / years. A private family service has been held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550
