Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMONDE YVETTE BAZINET (nee ST. AMANT) 1942 - 2014 Peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2014 Raymonde passed away with family by her side after a courageous battle with diabetes at the age of 71. Raymonde was born in St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba on August 23, 1942. She is predeceased by her mother and father Yvonne and Clovis St. Amant, brother Marc St. Amant, sisters-in-law Marie Anne Bazinet and Rose St. Amant and brother-in-law Herman Labossière. Raymonde will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband of 49 years, Roland, and daughter Michelle (Michael), son Raymond (Kelly) and three grandchildren, Rylun, Brayden and Gabrielle. Raymonde will also be fondly remembered by brothers and sisters Romeo (Cecile), Fernand (Lucille), Annette (Henri), Cora, Isabelle, Gilles (Doris), George (Pat), Evelyne (Wilfred), Bernard (Barbara) as well as many nieces and nephews. Also mourning Raymonde's passing are close friends from Palm Springs, California; Phoenix, Arizona; and The Lake. Raymonde lived all of her adolescent life on the family farm near the town of St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba. She lived an adventurous life on the farm with swimming in the Red River in the summer, taking the horse and sleigh across the ice road to get to school in winter and later when she was 16, driving the farm truck through the fields near the farm. Raymonde continued her adventures by moving into the big city of Winnipeg when she was 18. She worked at Royal Bank for a few years. Raymonde married the love of her life and companion of 49 years in 1964. Together, Roland and Raymonde lived an exciting life, while raising two very active children she spent some time upgrading her science courses to follow her dream of becoming a nurse. Raymonde studied at the St. Boniface Hospital School of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse. She graduated from the program in June 1975. She then began her lengthy career at the Foyer Valade becoming the charge nurse of the first floor. Raymonde loved the sunshine and spending time at their winter home in La Quinta, California where she perfected her other "profession" as a shopper extraordinaire. Golf, fine dining and relaxing with friends and family were some of her favourite pass times. Roland and Raymonde loved to travel, especially on cruises that took them around the world. Raymonde waged a long and at arduous battle with diabetes. She fought through many medical procedures and illnesses without complaint. A very special thank you to aunt Pat who devoted her precious time to take care of mom in her final days. Words cannot describe the profound appreciation we have for the staff of 5A and Palliative Care Units at the St. Boniface General Hospital. In keeping with Raymonde's wishes, cremation has taken place and a funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at The Roman Catholic Parish of St. Timothy, 135 John Forsyth Road in Winnipeg with Father Phil Daley officiating. If friends so desire and in lieu of flowers donations in memory of Raymonde may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Ce n'est qu'un au revoir Tu vivras à jamais dans nos coeurs. Rolly, Michelle, Raymond and families Our heartfelt prayers and thoughts go out to you. Raymonde was a wonderful Lady, classy, reserved, elegant, kind, impeccable taste, generous and a great ho stess and cook. Raymonde had incredible grace and positive outlook and perspective on life. Raymonde inspired her family and friends, she suffered in silence and her spirit remained strong. I always valued and will always treasure our relationship. Raymonde was very proud of her family and intensly proud of their achievements. Raymonde we will miss you, I felt very priviledged to have you as a friend/sister-in-law. I know you at peace and YOU are one of our ANGELS. - Posted by: DORIS ST AMANT (sister-in-law wife of Gilles St Amant) on: Feb 13, 2014

To the Bazinet family, In this imperfect time of reflection, tears are sometimes an inappropriate response to death. When a life like Raymonde’s that has been lived completely - honestly, completely - successfully, and just - completely, the correct response to her death’s perfect punctuation mark - is a smile. Raymonde, you are in our thoughts and in our memories. from Roger A. J. Aquin & Cynthia Le Sueur-Aquin - Posted by: Roger A. J. Aquin (nephew) on: Feb 10, 2014

To Rolly, Michelle Raymond. Gerry and I are at a loss for words and saddened by the loss of your wife and mother. We know it is a painful time. Know that we are thinking and praying for you all. Raymonde was a shy, gentle, loving person and a true friend to many, she will be missed a lot. May the good times you have shared with her be your consolation. Be there for each other. - Posted by: Gerry and Gaetane (Friend) on: Feb 07, 2014

Rolly, Michelle, Raymond & families, I have such wonderful memories of the Bazinets & Witzlebens that we shared on Greenwich Bay. Those times always bring back happy times for me and Raymonde was a integral part of that. I remember her encouragement when I entered university, trusting me to babysit Michelle & Raymond and opening her home to our out of town guests on our wedding day for breakfast, just to name a few. All these gestures left a lasting impression on me. I was always awed when I would babysit at Christmas time to see the beautifully decorated and coordinated tree and wrapped presents (she was ahead of her time in "themed" Christmas trees). I hope your memories will give your strength during this difficult time. Thinking of you, Cindy & Richard - Posted by: Cindy Graham (Witzleben) (neighbor from Greenwich Bay) on: Feb 06, 2014
