ALLEN NELSON Allen Nelson passed away on February 19, 2014 in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 52. Allen was raised on the family farm in Pilot Mound, Manitoba. He worked for CP Rail as a track maintainer. He married Starla in 1995 and was Mr. Mom, raising their children in Anola, Manitoba before moving to Winnipeg. Allen is survived by his wife Starla (nee Harris); children Jamie, Brent, Stephanie; sisters Sandra Baete, Marilyn (Will) Van De Kerckhove, Carolyn (Rick) Van De Kerckhove; stepmother-in-law Olive Harris; sisters-in-law Kathy Nelson, Charlene Harris, Shauna (Allen) Gillis, LaDon (Mat) Klywak; brother-in-law Daryl (Pam) Harris, and their families. Allen was predeceased by his parents Mert and Dulcie Nelson; brothers John, Lawrence, Stephen; parents-in-law John and Lena Harris; brothers-in-law Raymond Baete, David Harris and Randy Helps. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba. Donations in memory of Allen may be made to Marringhurst Park, c/o Joe Vassart, RR2, Pilot Mound, Manitoba R0G 1P0. Starla, Marilyn, Carolyn and families. So saddened to learn of Allen's passing. His smile and friendly manner always made for a pleasant visit from time to time over the years since high school. May you treasure your many memories and take care now and in the times ahead.
