Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIMELDA CASALLA LEGASPI It is with sadness that we announce the untimely passing of everyone's beloved "Auntie" Imelda Casalla Legaspi on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Family and friends were beside her to show love and comfort during these last moments. Imelda was born on March 12, 1958 in Cavite, Philippines. She migrated to Winnipeg with her mother and siblings in January 1977. She is predeceased by parents Trinidad and Natividad Casalla. Imelda is survived by spouse Ben Legaspi, siblings, Felix (Pilar) Casalla, Normie Licardo, Ellen (Pol) Licardo, Vina (Jim) Manzanillo, Beth (Bert) Tamis, Emvie Magararu, Jess (Gessie) Casalla, and Gani (Emmie) Casalla; in-laws Bing (Efren) Sapida, Larry (Lucy) Legaspi, Mike (Gemma) Legaspi, and Dorie (Wally) Bertudez; her close confidant/cousin Vicky Saqui in Winnipeg; and her many dear nieces and nephews who look up to her as their second mother. One can easily see the vibrant, jolly and friendly personality of Auntie; but more than that, she makes everyone feel special with her thoughtfulness, generosity and kind-heartedness. Friends and colleagues at Nygard witnessed her amazing 37 years of dedication for her work. She will be missed and will forever be remembered for her unconditional love. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at Health Sciences Centre especially the doctors and nurses at MICU. Viewing (Lamay) will be held on Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2, from 7:00 p.m. to midnight at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 3, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward Church, 836 Arlington St., Winnipeg. Interment will be in her hometown in the Philippines.
