Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY GEORGE WEST September 14, 1919 - February 21, 2014 We announce with great sadness and heavy hearts the peaceful passing of our beloved Stanley "George" West surrounded by his family on February 21, 2014 in Winnipeg at the age of 94 years old. George will be dearly remembered and missed by his family: his darling wife Mary Jane West (Chartrand), sons Derek (Beate) West, Ron (Shirlene) West and the grandchildren Michael (Trisha) Hill, Tanner West, Tyson West, great-grandchildren Ryan Hill, Ashley Hill, and Aaron Hill. And his nine stepchildren who all loved him dearly- Connie (Brian) MacCulloch, Ruby (Alex) Legere, Brian (Lisa) Chartrand, Peter (Susanne) Chartrand, Susan (David) Main, Lawrence Chartrand, Sandra (Larry) Tanasiciuk, Denise (Steve) Meyer, and Leo (Renee) Chartrand. Pre-deceased by his first wife- Margret West and their daughter Veronica Hill (West). George will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have enjoyed his company, and his many entertaining stories. Services will be held at Windsor Park United Church 1062 Autumnwood Dr. at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 26. Luncheon to follow. A great & interesting person, George had a true passion for golf and demonstrated the love of this sport well into his 90's. He played all 18 holes & most times walking. I had the pleasure to play alongside him on a few occasions with his friend Tom. George was exceptional. His sea stories prior to and during the war years would have made a great novel. Sorry to hear of George's passing. I first met this lovely family in the early 60's just after they came from Scotland. As you know, Vera was a good friend and if I may say so, I had a small part in her meeting Reg. Condolences to Derek, Ron and their families and to Michael and his.
