ROSE KROTCH (nee GAMACHE) December 14, 1920 - March 4 , 2014 It is with great sadness and love, that we say good-bye to our Mom, Grandma and Great- Grandma, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home, at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Michael, in 2005. Mom was born in Laurier, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg to pursue a career as an x-ray technician and in 1945, she married the love of her life, Michael. Mom was a devoted wife and loving mother to her three sons. She was a great cook and baker. Nothing could compare to her cabbage rolls, perogies and apple pie. She loved to read, knit and crochet. She was a special kind of light in our lives, always so caring and willing to give of herself, whether it be for babysitting or making Sunday dinner. Mom loved her family unconditionally, enjoying time spent with grandchildren and more recently great-grandchildren. Thank you, Mom, for all you have done. For showing your love in so many ways. For always being there in our time of need. For your wisdom, guidance and sympathy. For years of love, laughter and tears. For your patience, devotion, generosity and confidence through the years. Thank you Mom, for all that you did and all that you were. You will always be in our hearts. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., Christ the King Parish, 847 St. Mary's Road. Rite of committal will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the St. Norbert Personal Care Home for their kindness and caring. Mom always felt very happy, comfortable and safe in their care. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose's name may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • The obituary was very deserving of your mom, she was an awesome person, so full of life, joy and so kind. I still remember when we used to go to your house in the city how she would make sure that the best was served to please us, and her cooking was so delicious. I also remember when your parents would come and visit us in LaBroquerie and us cousins would play outside in the yard. I have many good memories. It is so sad that the good times are gone, but at least the memories keep us hoping that we will all be together one day. My most sincere sympathy to you boys in the loss of your mother.
