They married in 1977 and raised their children first in Winnipeg and then in St- Pierre. Briane was a career truck driver and over the years worked for various trucking companies as a driver and owner-operator. His career began in Toronto, Ontario at age 18 and he drove many long miles all over North America until 2008. Wherever he went, he touched people's lives. He was a character no one would ever forget meeting. His gift for telling stories and his sense of humour were contagious and legendary. Briane's proudest moments were the births of his children and grandchildren, but his greatest joy was his life with his wife, Jeannette. His legacy is his family and friends and all who knew him. Briane's favourite pastimes were family fishing and camping vacations on Elephant Lake (Kukukus) over 28 years as his family continued to grow. Briane's generosity and support to everyone will be greatly missed. If he saw a need, he did his very best to fill it. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff on 4A South and 4E Rehab at St. Boniface Hospital and to Health Science Prosthetic Team. A special thank you to De Salaberry Southern Home Care and Palliative Team, Dr. Ochonska and Tabitha for all their care. Very sorry to read of Briane's passing. Many years ago (1972) Briane taught me to drive a tractor trailer. He was a great guy and I don't think that I've had a friend who was so giving. I spent my working life working in the Transportation industry and I have Briane to thank for that. Three years too late; I wish that I had "googled" Briane earlier. I would have enjoyed catching up with him. RIP Mike - Posted by: Mike Schnurr (Friend) on: Jun 06, 2017

It is with a heavy heart I say farewell to Briane. I am grateful his days of pain are over and frustration with some of the curves he was thrown this last few years. He will be missed by so many in particular his beloved wife Jeannette, his children and grandchildren who were such a large part of his life. He left us all with memories of stories he shared of his trucking days , how he met my sister Jeannette his beloved wife, his loving children and grandchildren, days of fishing trips and even the "odd" off colour joke. He was a unique man who showed his true feelings to the extreme. I got to know Briane fairly well but wish we could have spent more time visiting. Hugs and prayers for comfort to Jeannette and family. Love you all "more" and always ❤️ - Posted by: Patricia Joorisity (Sister-in-law) on: Mar 14, 2014

I'll always remember how much fun it was whenever we got together with Uncle Briane. Christmas gatherings were loud and hilarious and he always kept everyone entertained, whether it was not understanding the game being played or with his quarters trick or his many stories from the road. When we were younger it was fun travelling with him to Sudbury in his truck - and he even let me drive! At 15! And the only instruction was "don't take that curve too tight or the load will flip us over"! As a kid he let you do things your parents would never let you do. He was such a character, they don't make them like that anymore and he will be missed. Love Cindy - Posted by: Cindy (Niece) on: Mar 14, 2014

Uncle Briane, what can you say about a guy who was, in many ways, larger than life. I'd like to share a lasting memory I have of Uncle Briane. Being a career truck driver gave him tons of fodder for his stories. I'll never forget when I bought my little sports car. I was 24 years old and super excited about it until Uncle Briane looked at it. His exact words to me were "you know your head is at my feet". I'll never forget that conversation. He cared so much about the people in his life as evident by his comments about my new car. He tried really hard to be ornery he was a big teddy bear. I'll miss you Uncle Briane. Love Kelly. - Posted by: Kelly Wright (Niece) on: Mar 14, 2014
