My mom, Elsie, and Fran were close sisters despite the distance from Winnipeg to Vancouver. I remember Fran's visits fondly. Every year she sent christmas gifts to her nieces and nephews and later their children. The last time I saw her face was christmas about 15 years ago. She was still as sharp as ever. I will miss her dearly. - Posted by: David Miller (Nephew) on: Jun 17, 2014

Fran was a life long friend to my Mom, Mary Coulter. Mom passed away last August. I remember Fran as an important part of our life growing up. She was a lovely lady. - Posted by: Kerry Coulter Montgomery (Friend) on: Apr 06, 2014

A gentle and devoted soul, Fran was an integral part of Immanuel United Church. I know her as a faithful choir member who established and ran the church library. Anytime a need arose for service at an event, Fran would be there. Dear Fran, you are sorely missed. Grace be yours and peace. - Posted by: Lynne Strome (Friend) on: Apr 02, 2014

She was my aunt. She had 94 distinguished years, I have 62. So I've known her a very long time. This hurts. - Posted by: Fred Burrows (Nephew) on: Apr 02, 2014

We have known Fran and her Mother and Dad for over 50 years. Fran and I taught Sunday school together at Grey Street United Church. Fran was a well organized and a wonderful English teacher. She got her University degree later in life after working for years, I think at Eaton's department store. A very self sufficient, kind and thoughtful person. She had one of my paintings hanging in her little house on Winter Street for years. I love you Fran. Rest in peace dear friend. I knew Fran for many years at Immanuel United Church. In her quiet and unassuming way, she contributed so much, and she will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Carol Harrison (Friend) on: Apr 02, 2014

Gentle Fran has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. My Grandmother, Amy Ellen Wildman Corley and Fran's mother, Maude Burrows, came to Canada together from England in 1912. They had been booked on the Titanic but due to Maude's measles, postponed their voyage and sailed later on another ship. My mother, Frieda Corley Melnick, and Fran were lifelong friends. Frieda's and Fran's parents were also lifelong friends. I remember well visiting with Maude and Arthur Burrows in our home and at theirs. Fran was always a welcome and valued guest as well. I am glad Fran is free of her illness and I hope she knows we remember her with love and admiration. Frieda passed away in December, 2013. Fran had knit a gold scarf for my Mother. My Mother wore that scarf at home and when she went out. " Please bring me my Franny scarf." she would ask me. My Mother wore that scarf until her last days. I sense their bond of love and friendship is continuing and that they are now together again. - Posted by: Susan Melnick (family friend) on: Apr 01, 2014

I have memories of Frances when she taught in Manitou when I was growing up. Frances was good friends with my cousin Jessie MacIntosh; they had many good times together and a few trips to our family farm and joined our family on some Sunday drives and picnics. A wonderful lady, our thoughts are with your family. Karen Wiebe (Keen) - Posted by: Karen Wiebe (Relative of a friend of Miss Burrows) on: Apr 01, 2014
