FRANCISCA (ESTAY) ILAGAN MENDOZA Peacefully passed away with family by her side on Friday, March 28, 2014, at the age of 94. Estay was born in Santa Rita, Batangas City, Philippines and immigrated to Winnipeg with her family in 1979. She will be reunited with her beloved husband of 58 years, Bernardo (Dandoy) Mendoza and with their daughter Gorgonia (Onie) Capule. Estay will be forever carried in the hearts of her children, Pedro (Tinay), Simplicia (Francisco - deceased), Toribia (Villamor), Cecilio (Mila), Carmen (Norbert), Tessie (Jerry) and Romeo (Maria Fe). Along with her 27 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren in Canada and Philippines. Estay was especially happy singing, dancing and laughing with her family and friends. Lamay (Viewing) will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. with prayers starting at 8:00 p.m. We will celebrate her life at Glen Lawn Funeral Home on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. A gathering of family and friends will follow at Glen Lawn Reception Centre. Interment at 1:00 p.m. will take place at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. Special thanks are extended to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for all their care and compassion.
