ARTHUR JOHN BALL November 17, 1950 - March 30, 2014 The family of Arthur John Ball is saddened to announce his passing at his home in Winnipeg on March 30, 2014 at the age of 63 years. He is survived by his son, Kevin (Tanya) and daughter, Adrienne both of Toronto, also his siblings, Larry, Ken, James, Steven, Gordon, Teresa, Dorothy, Miriam, and their spouses as well as many nieces and nephews, members of the Primmett family, and his long-time friend, Marjorey Dwornick. Arthur was predeceased by his mother Theresa , his father, Horace, and his brother,Tom. Arthur was born and raised primarily in Winnipeg although there were several sojourns when the family followed his father when he took up employment in other locations. He began his career at Manitoba Hydro at age 18 where he remained employed until his retirement in 2005. In 1974 he married Cathy (nee Primmett) and they settled in Teulon where they raised two children, kept up a busy life, renovated a large family home, and landscaped a huge yard. Arthur loved camping and trips throughout the Province and beyond were high points for all of them. He was never happier than when he was surrounded by friends and family or on his garden tractor in his yard. When the results of an early industrial accident began to manifest as seizures and blackouts, Arthur was forced to retire from his position at Manitoba Hydro due to his disability. From then on his way of life changed dramatically. As his health diminished and his personality changed, the marriage dissolved and he began a single life. His latter years were marked by severe short-term memory loss, increasing confusion, and seizures, although there were often flashes of the old Arthur especially in his sense of humour. His love of his family and Jonny and Andy, the two cats he rescued when they were kittens remained with him and if friends desire, donations may be made in his memory to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, 3062 Portage Ave., or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced with the coming of warmer weather, a time he so loved. Vaya con Dios, Arthur. You have "shuffled off this mortal coil". Arthur, you were an amazing brother! You were never afraid to play house with your sisters! I know you changed with your disability but I never lost sight of the "real Arthur". I miss you! Love you! - Posted by: Dorothy Blight (sister) on: Apr 10, 2014

This is such sad news, although for Art, it has brought peace. My thoughts are with you Kevin, Tanya and Adrienne - Posted by: Karen Hutchinson (friend) on: Apr 06, 2014
