JO-ANN PATRICIA GOGAL (HUMENIUK) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jo-Ann Patricia Gogal (Humeniuk) on the morning of April 14, 2014. She passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital with her husband Michael and her son Landon by her side. Joni's life will be forever cherished by Mike, Landon (Lucia) and Joni's beautiful granddaughter Sienna, by Joni's parents Waldy and Patricia Humeniuk, her sister and brother-in-law Rosemarie and Garry Haggerty, her mother-in-law Joanne Gogal, her nieces and nephews Jodi (Andrew) Terhoch and Patrick (Tanis) Haggerty, her great-nieces Teagan and Kiera Haggerty and by her friends and work associates. Joni now rests in peace with her brother Ivan. Joni was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on January 24, 1954. After graduating from Swan River Valley Collegiate and settling in Winnipeg, she met Mike and they began their family and life together. Joni had many work experiences in life and they all centered on her relationships with her customers and her co-workers. Joni's kind, caring nature was evident in her actions every day. She would often show up with a small "just because" gift for a family member or a friend and she always kept in touch with those closest to her, even if to just say hello and let them know she was thinking of them. Quite simply, Joni loved connecting with people. Just the same, she treasured quiet moments and could spend hours on her own, curled up with a good book. Though her time on earth has ended, Joni's love, kindness and warmth will remain with us always and will be cherished as we forever honour her life. Funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Road. Rite of committal will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please honour Joni with a donation to CancerCare Manitoba. Plant something bright in your garden this spring with Joni in your heart. • My memories over the years are of one fine decent, fulfilled happy gal. Lived, laughed, loved - and gone too soon. - Posted by: Norm Stern (friend) on: Apr 22, 2014

  • Love you guys. Joanne, as I called her, was a very loving and warm person. My heart is with you, Mike and Lanny, as I called him when he played with my daughter at the age of 2. You guys have been my longest friends here in Winnipeg and I will miss you Joni. - Posted by: laurence morris (friend) on: Apr 21, 2014

  • I will remember Joni with fondness and love - she was a staple in my life growing up, and my mom's best friend. Now they are reunited around God's table, sharing a pot of coffee and chatting up a storm as they used to do when they walked upon this earth. I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing, and will cherish the good memories and times spent together. Her smile and laughter in my heart. My condolences go out to Mike and Lanny - keep her memory alive and well for Sienna, so that she may grow up knowing how wonderful her grandma was. Sorry I cannot be there to help you celebrate her life, but know that I am there in spirit. Love, Always, Kelly - Posted by: Kelly Aiello (First Couisn) on: Apr 19, 2014
