  • Anytime I ever spoke to Zio I always walked away with a smile on my face, because that's what Zio did, he made people feel happy. Whether it was a funny story or his easy going manner, I would always feel good after talking to him. Thank you for the smiles Zio! - Posted by: Marisa Aiello & Family (Niece) on: May 02, 2014

  • My sisters and I were fortunate to have uncle Frank in our lives. He was like another father to us, and we agree he was our favorite uncle. We have many happy memories of celebrating Christmas and New Year' Eve with him and his family. In his home there was room for one more person to sit at the table and enjoy a meal. The door was always open for family and friends. His children's friends loved and respected him also, as he made everyone feel like family. He was a kind, gentle, loving father and grandfather who worked hard to provide for his family, there was nothing more important to him than their happiness. Carmen, Kelly, Ernie, Frank and Dino your father could not have asked for better children. You were all wonderful to him your love, patience and caring ways, especially in the last few weeks will never be forgotten. Aunt Lucia, you were blessed with a happy marriage, he loved and adored you. I know he will always be in your heart and your whole family will cherish the memories of him. Uncle Frank, I enjoyed our many happy times together I will miss you along with many others. Until we meet again may you rest in peace. With love and remembrance your niece Emira Cipolla Acquisto. - Posted by: emira Acquisto (niece) on: Apr 26, 2014

  • My uncle truly was one of the most kindest people would ever meet. My family would never be able to pass his cottage in Matlock on our usual trek to the beach without a greeting or small chat alongside the gravel road. He always had a smile on his face as he would return to tending to his garden once our talks ended. We will truly miss the laughter during the many "Scopa" games he played in our cottage with my parents and friends. His stories will never be forgotten, only passed along. The corner of Gimili Rd and Beach Ave will never be the same without him but it will always be a reminder of how lucky we were to have him in our lives. We want to express our condolences to his entire family. "A great man will always be." - Posted by: Caterina Aiello, Simon Hooper and family (niece) on: Apr 26, 2014

  • Francesco Scarpino was a wonderful man. He was amiable, kind hearted and always said hello at social gatherings and other events. My family and I have known him and his family since we came to Canada. In many respects he was a point of reference, a recognizable and kind face through the course of our lives and circumstances. His background was not too dissimilar to ours in that he too was an immigrant who tried and succeeded in carving out a meaningful and rewarding life for himself and his family in Canada. His presence was a constant reminder of our origins and roots. He was one that liked to talk and reflect about the past but at the same time looked to the future with great determination and optimism. His passing leaves us with a void that will be hard to fill. To Francesco's family and kin, we extend our heartfelt condolences for your tremendous loss.
