ROBERT P. AYOTTE June 9, 1950 - April 29, 2014 With sadness we announce the sudden passing of our father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Left to mourn his passing are his daughters Stacy (Rob), Tara (David); his grandchildren Jayden and Brando; his brothers and sisters Evelyn (Claude), Claudette (Greg), Gisele (Gilles), Rolly (Cindy), Gabriel (Debbie); and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Hortense; father Claude; and sister Dawn. Robert was born in Altona and grew up in St. Jean Baptiste where he resided. After graduating high school, he attained an Industrial Arts degree and began his teaching career in the early 1970's in the town of Grandview, MB. He met the love of his life there, they had two beautiful daughters together and were married for 16 years. Robert was a carpenter who built his first home in St. Laurent where he taught Industrial Arts. He concluded his career at St. Norbert Collegiate after achieving 21 years in the field. He was a wonderful, skilled teacher that filled his students with knowledge, precision, patience and direction - he missed his time as a teacher and never forgot his students which he would talk about from time to time. He was an Elvis fan, he collected antiques, coins and stamps. He had a passion for sports cars and enjoyed fixing and restoring classic cars. He had a heart of gold and was truly dedicated to his family. He admired his children and grandsons, this was his reason for living. We will miss the laughs, your silly jokes, the funny messages and, most of all, your love. Thank you for all that you have given us and all that you achieved. You are a true star that shines on never to be forgotten. Your pain is gone, rest well. Please join us to celebrate Robert's life at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to the PACT Team and the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital for your loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Robert to the Mood Disorder Foundation of Manitoba.
