ROBERT JOHN HEINRICHS January 27, 1950 - May 25, 2014 After a lengthy struggle with his health, Bob passed away peacefully with his three favourite girls by his side. Bob is survived by his loving wife Peggy, daughters Maeghan, Caitlyn (Kyle Ladobruk) and granddaughter Lucy. He also leaves to mourn his passing his sister, Carol (Howard Bjornson) and in-laws Tom and Betty Bueckert, Irene Bueckert, and Michael and Louise Smith and their families. He was predeceased by his parents Abe and Lydia Heinrichs. Bob was raised in Morris and began selling cars, first in his hometown, then Steinbach and Winnipeg. He went on to spend many years in real estate until his joy of flying and passion for nature inspired him to start an aerial spraying business, Exterminair Ltd., with the goal of preserving forests. In the last years of his life Bob was plagued with health issues that left him unable to experience and pursue the things that gave him joy. We will miss him greatly but take great comfort in knowing that he is once again a young and vivacious soul. The family would like to thank Bob's homecare nurse Nikki, as well as the staff at Concordia ICU and Health Sciences IICU for the excellent care they gave Bob during his 13 month stay. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. If desired, donations may be made to the Fort Whyte Centre. Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • I knew Bob from about the age of 6 or 7, living just on the next block. Many of the best memories of growing up in Morris were the shenanigans we got into: bike rides in the country, riding motorcycles, growing potatoes to make big money, hunting rabbits along the Red, exploring the abandoned houses in Morris, playing catch, tobogganing down the hill at the Morris River Bridge, driving like madmen in the country, hoeing sugar beets to make big money, pestering his sister, Carol, delivering pigs to Winnipeg in Bob's Dad's pickup, playing snooker, and on and on. We never did get to fly to Alaska in his float plane, a trip we sometimes talked about. I know that would have been an adventure. Bob was advanced beyond his years and his ability to make friends helped him succeed in selling cars and real estate. Although we didn't talk too often in the last few years, when we did, we both went back in time, no need to get to know each other again. He never found the need to boast about his achievements or interesting activities, but he had an eventful and interesting life. Just a great friend. I miss him. • Wow, what great times we had. Laugh, ate, laugh and all 'gut-busters'. I am so sorry we didn't stay in touch over the years. He was what I call a beautiful soul. Please... if you are one of Bob's children- contact me. - Posted by: Micheal Parent (Great friend from Mrs. Soli's boarding house in Winnipeg) on: Jul 30, 2014

  • I knew Mrs Heinrichs from Murray's store, a hard working and lovely women. When I decided to buy a car I went across the street to meet her son, Bob. He found a good and reliable car for me. This remains a memorable experience, my first car. Bob had a great sense of humour, very witty and caring. Many years later I met Peggy and their daughters. I am glad to say I continue to see Peggy regularly. So sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Claire Sabourin (friend) on: Jun 26, 2014

  • I was deeply saddened by the news of Bob's passing. My heartfelt condolences to you and the "girls". As you know I got to spend a fair amount of time with Bob over the past year. Whenever we had a time to chat he spoke of you and his "girls" with utmost admiration and love. The anticipation of little Lucy's birth, I believe is what gave him the will to live to ensure he could meet his new granddaughter. Thinking of you and the girls. - Posted by: Shelly Rempel-Rossum (Family Friend) on: May 30, 2014

  • I remember buying my first corvette from Bob and instantly becoming friends. We kept in touch over the next few years Bob wound up listing and selling my house in Oak Bluff. We lost touch when we both left Wpg but I will always remember him as a wonderful human being and I can not fully express the sadness I felt in hearing of his passing - Posted by: Peter Doliwa (Friend) on: May 28, 2014
