LENA SHEWCHUK (nee CHUBATY) Peacefully and surrounded by family on June 1, 2014 Lena passed away at the Holy Family Home at the age of 90 years. Lena will be greatly missed by; daughters, Sylvia (Melvin) and Eileen (Rob); six grandchildren, Jill (James), Julie (Steven), Faye (Phillipe), Jeff (Joelle), Kyle and Janis; eight great-grandchildren, Alexis, Liam, Joel, Jack, Louise, Caden Jasper, Linnea. She was predeceased by her husband John, parents William and Anne, sister Kay and brother Walter. Lena was born in Stuartburn, MB on October 6, 1923. She worked at Kelekis Restaurant and Sovereign Life but will best be remembered for being an excellent homemaker who loved cooking and baking and having family around to enjoy it. The family would like to thank Wilma, Doris and the 3rd floor staff of Holy Family Home for their loving and compassionate care of Mom. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, June 6, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lena's memory to the Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Ave. VICHNAYA PAM'YAT 204-586-8044
