To the Wood family, I was so very sorry to hear of your mom's passing and she will be missed by many of her friends in Springfield. I am also sorry that I couldn't share this time with you, because of health reasons but my thoughts and prayer are certainly with you at this time of sorrow. - Posted by: Phyllis Cook (A friend for many years ) on: Jun 27, 2014

Dear Family, How saddened we were to hear of the passing of your mother, Mert. It was your family that enhances all of our childhood memories…the camping (what our memories serve us to be every weekend); The wine making and tasting get togethers, the berry picking, the tobogganing and parties. We will always remember your mom’s infectious giggle and good humor and her always welcoming us and making us feel a part of your family. Please know that you have been in our thoughts and prayers during this trying time . If there is anything we can do please do not hesitate to let us know. We do hope to stay in touch. My heart goes out to the Wood family. I had the honor of meeting Myrtle on several occasions through her daughter Kathy. She was so kind and so wonderful. A few years back she gave me some of her famous Lily Bulbs, she will be in my garden forever. RIP Myrtle. - Posted by: Diane Fortin (Friend) on: Jun 26, 2014

It saddened me greatly when I heard of Mert's passing. I am sorry for your loss. What I remember most about Mert is her laugh. I heard it a lot when our families got together! I look forward to hearing it when we meet up again! - Posted by: Karen Duchscherer (Foster) (family friend) on: Jun 25, 2014
