VERLIE BAILEY Peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2014, Verlie passed away at the age of 77. Verlie was predeceased by her husband John; and grandson Danny. She will be greatly missed by her four children, John (Julie), Gloria, Kathy (Artie), Terri (Jimmy); grandchildren, Amber, Michelle, Sasha, Jimmy, Ryan, Cody, Jerry, Aaron and Jaycee; nine great-grandchildren; and her niece June. Mom held many jobs over the years, but her biggest pride was working at Regina House, alongside Dad as house managers, mentors and guidance counsellors up until her retirement. The family would like to thank all the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, 3rd floor, Unit 4 for all your care and compassion. A special thanks to Nikki Lazarenko and Jan McAuley. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6. Mom, I admired you my whole life. You worked hard your whole life and never, ever complained about it. You were the most honest person I ever knew too. I could go on and on about your principles, integrity, ethics etc., but what I want you to know most, is that I love you with all of my being. I watched you struggle for every breath these past 13 years and know you suffered much. Very, very seldom did I ever hear you complain about it. You fought it with every fiber of your being & I will respect you forever. I miss you mom. I will miss you every day for the rest of my life. I know you are free from pain now. I can't even explain what I want to say. I'm glad I was able to have known Verlie. Glad I was able to at least do something for her in her passing days. She's been an amazing woman for the little time I knew her, and just by knowing her daughter, Terri, I know she was amazing even before. Leaving everyone wasn't unexpected, but that doesn't make it hurt any less to those who cared for her. She will always and forever be remembered, loved, and missed.
