GLENN ARTHUR BECKETT September 9, 1963 - July 14, 2014 It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Glenn Beckett at the age of 50 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Olive, stepsisters, Doreen Wozny and Linda (Hubert) Parker, former partner, Linda Eaton, as well as, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Glenn was predeceased by his father, Ralph, stepbrother, Thomas and stepbrother-in-law, Orest. Glenn was a quiet man who enjoyed the music of the Beach Boys, and working with his hands. His crowning achievement was restoring his 1981 Cougar Hot Rod all on his own as well as completing a model ship of the Titanic - a history and story that fascinated him. Glenn was an excellent employee, working for Home Depot for many years and most recently Central Hydraulics. In keeping with Glenn's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Glenn may be made to Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. • Glenn enjoyed exchanging stories of old times and triumph in hockey and soccer. Always happy to say hi and chat when we ran into each other at HD.... never missed a kind word on my facebook updates... except when the Bombers lost... lol cheers Glenn It is a sad sad day. - Posted by: Ian Alexander (childhood buddy) on: Jul 24, 2014

  • We will miss Glenn, when we drive up the lane and his cheery wave or conversation when we were out at the garage. He kept an eye out for our place as we did for his. He was a good neighbor and friend. Lance and Bonnie - Posted by: Lance & Bonnie (Friends & back lane neighbors) on: Jul 22, 2014

  • I've only known Glenn through work. We never met. He was always very nice and we shared a love of animals. I hope his family takes good care of Squeaks! He loved Squeaks! He also loved cars. We would chat from time to time and he seemed to be in a happier place as of recently. It saddens me to get a call at work and find out that he had passed. We had spoken only days before. • I knew Glenn through another love of his - animals. He was so grateful to the friends he had and made. The animal rescue community has lost a friend and advocate. RIP, Glenn - Posted by: Theressa (Friend) on: Jul 22, 2014

  • Rest in peace, dear cousin. - Posted by: Kate Beckett () on: Jul 21, 2014

  • I was very sorry to hear of Glenn's passing. I remember fondly his love of cars and how his eyes would light up when he was talking about them. We had many discussions in regards to his fascination with the titanic. At the end of this very long winter we had spoken about taking his hot rod out and taking my 9 year old for a ride. He was very proud of his baby and I am sorry we never got the chance. May God be with you during this time of grieving. Michael Thom - Posted by: Michael Thom (Friend) on: Jul 21, 2014
