MARIA EILA MALTMAN (nee KALLIO) May 27, 1922 - July 21, 2014 It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mom, Maria Eila Maltman at the age of 92. Mom was born in Tantallon, Saskatchewan. She graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing in 1945. She worked as a nurse up until she retired from Bethania Personal Care Home at the age of 65. Mom was predeceased by her daughter Wendy, sisters Sylvia, Gertrude, Irene, Alma, Bertha and Viola, as well as her brother Eino. She is survived by her children, Larry (Judy), Judie (Wayne), Roxane (Dave) and Ron (Shirley). Also left to mourn her passing are her sisters Effie and Mabel, son-in-law Gerry (Susan); 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Our mom was very caring and loving. She was generous and had a big heart. She was a wonderful nurse who worked hard her whole life. She was always there for us whenever we needed her. We will miss her dearly. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at River Park Gardens for their excellent care of our mom. A private family service will be held. Flowers gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or River Park Gardens.
