WALTER MOSKWA It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Moskwa in Winnipeg on Thursday, July 31, 2014, following a brief illness. With family by his side, Walter peacefully left us at the age of 87. He is now reunited with his parents, Jan and Katherine (Seepish) Moskwa, and all of his siblings, brothers Tom, Stan and Frank and sisters Mary Podolski, Anne Ewaschuk/Pic, Bertha McDougall, Jean DeCourcy, Pauline Karmason/Benedictson and Kay Petrachuk. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law, Nettie Moskwa of Red Lake, Ontario, and many nieces and nephews. Walter was born at the family home in Prawda, Manitoba where he resided for most of his life. As a young man, Walter had a mining related job in Red Lake, Ontario, but most of his working years were in Falcon Lake, Manitoba. He worked at the golf course in the summer and the ski hill in the winter. In recent years, Walter resided in Steinbach then in Winnipeg. Walter was a very gentle and kind man. He will be remembered by his wonderful smile and amusing (although repetitive) stories. He will be missed by all who knew him. A service to celebrate Walter's life will be Friday, August 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Gerard Parish, 45 Foster Street, with viewing prior to the service at 12:30 p.m. Interment at St. Mary's Riverside Cemetery in Prawda, Manitoba at approximately 5:00 p.m. Our sincerest thanks to the staff of 6E at St. Boniface Hospital for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, donations in Walter's memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. 204-586-8044

Walter was a dedicated employee who carried out many different jobs on the Falcon Lake Golf Course, townsite landscaping and other related work. He had a daily visit by a red fox while he mowed certain golf greens. This relationship between Walter and the red fox carried on for a long period over that particular summer. Walter quite often related that his friend, the fox, was there to watch over his work. One day the fox did not show up and we found that it had been subject to some natural predator. Walter was totally devastated by this loss of his animal friend. Walter's quiet, unassuming nature to man or animal will always be remembered! - Posted by: Doug Drysdale (Boss) on: Aug 06, 2014
