Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • Jean Marc was truly one of a kind! He spoke the truth and wasn't afraid to tell you! He was generous with whatever he had to share, if someone was hungry he'd be the first one to offer a meal! We'd have these long intense talks about anything and we would pray! His philosophies were aligned with myself and I know he just loved Jesus and his heart was beautiful and joyous! I'm sure glad I got to know him and share a part of his life! I love and will miss you...RIP - Posted by: Marilyn Brazeau (Spiritual friends/brother) on: Sep 17, 2014

  • Farewell, my friend. I will always treasure the memory of our coffee meeting in Osborne Village one Nov. 11th many years ago when I was in Winnipeg visiting. We reminisced about our days growing up in St Lucia and the fun times we had. My deepest sympathy to JnPierre & Chantal ... Alex, as we knew him then .. will always be fondly remembered. - Posted by: Kenny Husband (Friend) on: Aug 16, 2014

  • Jean- Marc Alex Lalanne was a schoolmate of mine in St. Lucia. He was always a bright intelligent student who never got into trouble. Everyone loved and respected him and the world has lost a great guy. - Posted by: Ronald Clauzel (Friend) on: Aug 15, 2014

  • Jean-Marc touched many lives in a profound way, whether over forty years or in only a few minutes of conversation. My children and many of the people of Osborne Village will remember his interest in their young lives, his challenging questions, but especially his amazing laughter. I offer my condoleances to Chantal and Jean-Pierre and to the many friends who mourn him. As he would say, take care. - Posted by: Lesley Patricia Brown (friend) on: Aug 09, 2014

  • While I never met Jean Marc myself, his name is very familiar as a long time friend of my late brother, Neil. Condolences to your family, my thoughts are with you. - Posted by: Ann McLaughlin (Friend) on: Aug 09, 2014

  • Sorry to read of Jean Marc's passing. Have wondered for many years how he had been. We used to run into each other in the oddest places. He always had something to share. RIP my Friend. - Posted by: Jim Walker (Old Friend) on: Aug 08, 2014

  • For many years I would run into Jean Marc in the Osborne Village so where he worked a security position as guard at the drugstore or more often over coffee at The Second Cup or Tim Horton's in the local Safeway store. His increasing interest in religious writings occupied much of his attention during these recent years. Jean Marc's final and obviously peaceful acceptance of his poor health was remarkably and admirably balanced by a down to Earth sense of humor. As I was getting prepared to get up and leave after what turned out to be a last visit with Jean Marc in Boniface Hospital.... He put out his arms for a good by hug which I happily gave him. At this time he took a whiff of my cologne and... made brutal fun of it! Upon leaving I reflected that someday when dying one could do worse than to have such spirit. A beautiful thing. - Posted by: Brent Dobson (many years long coffee house friend) on: Aug 07, 2014
