Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAUREEN BERNICE SHIPLEY On Tuesday, August 5, 2014 Laureen Bernice Shipley (nee Moores) passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her husband Roland (Buster) Shipley and grandson Darren Braun. Laureen will be lovingly missed by her children Robert Finley (Karen), Arlene Saunders (Don), and Jeanette Braun (Bob), along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson. Laureen was a long time resident of Winnipeg, and was a hairdresser whose business was located in Fort Rouge. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. 204-586-8044

I first met Laureen through the volunteer program of the Winnipeg Public Library for books for homebound people. Laureen and I spent many an evening getting to know one another and sharing stories. She was a delightful person and always so cheery despite her physical limitations. I was sorry to learn of her passing as I had hoped to visit her upon returning from my travels.
