PATRICIA ANNE RACICOT (nee RUSHFORTH) 1962- 2014 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Racicot on August 1, 2014 after a valiant battle with breast cancer. Pat will be forever missed by her husband Martin Racicot; her daughters Michelle Racicot and Rachel Wiebe (Justin); and grandson Kelton. Patricia was born on December 16, 1962. She grew up on a farm in Eriksdale, Manitoba with her parents, five siblings, grandfather and a multitude of pets. After graduating from high school, she had a very diverse career. She moved to Winnipeg where she studied hair styling. She later worked at Domo where she progressed into a management position. Pat and Martin moved to Saskatoon where they married and started their family. After the birth of her children, Pat ran a home daycare for a number of years. She then graduated with a Health Care Aide diploma and worked as a Recreation Therapist/Health Care Aide at the Arris Centre in Stonewall. Pat loved to garden, cook, make homemade wine and beer and walk her faithful dog Shelby. She was also very talented at knitting and crocheting, creating many very beautiful items. She welcomed friends, family and exchange students into her home where her stories and bright sense of humour always brought laughter to all. Other surviving family members include her mother Lily Sewell, mother-in-law Hectorine Racicot; sister Shirley Guinn (Brent), brothers Allan Rushforth and Tim Rushforth (Naomi); sister-in-law France (Andre) Racicot; brother-in- law Pierre (Diane) Racicot and sister-in-law Helene Berthiaume, as well as her nieces and nephews John Campbell; Aaron, Tara and Ashley Guinn; Shannon, Carla and Erin Traill; and Francis and Julie Racicot. Pat is predeceased by her son Richard Racicot, her father Gordon Rushforth, stepfather Walter Sewell, her sister Lynda Campbell, brother Michael Rushforth and brother-in-law Paul Racicot. The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the very special supportive staff at the Stonewall District Health Centre, IRHA Palliative and Home Care services. Additional thanks to CancerCare Manitoba at the Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Hospital. Thank you to Dr. Valerie Gordon for her kindness and support to the family during Patricia's illness and to her many loving friends and neighbours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Breast Cancer Foundation. Memorial Service will be held August 18 at the MacKenzie Funeral Home in Stonewall, Manitoba at 2:00 p.m.
