SILVESTRA SUPAN (née BASILIO) December 31, 1919 - August 8, 2014 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Silvestra on August 8, 2014, at Seven Oaks General Hospital, at the age of 94 years. She was predeceased by her parents Juana Aguas and Emilio Basilio, her brother Rosendo Basilio, her sisters Ines dela Cruz and Bonifacia Apaga. Remaining to cherish Silvestra's memory are her husband Bernardo, children Robert (Zeny), Dading (Vangie), Rey (Chato), Flor (Ed Lorenzo), grandchildren Ivan (Anne), Avery, Christianne, Ritz, Reinz (Joyce), Raltz (Charina), Cheryl, Adrian, Anthony and Mary, her great-grandchildren Chelsea, Kayla, Nevaeh, Koston, Gabrielle, Jayden and Chloe. She was born in the Philippines on December 31, 1919. She was married to Bernardo on April 23, 1944. Silvestra used to sell clothes to help raise their children. She was a very hard working person who truly cared for her family. She immigrated to Canada in 1980. Silvestra was a great cook and loved babysitting her grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the casino and doing word search puzzles. Lamay (Viewing) will be held from 7:00 p.m. to Midnight on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 836 Arlington Street. Interment and reception will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial gardens and Funeral Home. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the thoughtful and supportive staff of Seven Oaks Hospital, 4th floor unit 9 for their care and compassion. We would also like to thank our friend's relatives who we consider as extended families who are very supportive and compassionate throughout this difficult time.
