Date of Passing: Aug 12, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY (MICKEY) ANDREWS With her family beside her, Mary (Mickey) Andrews peacefully passed away on August 12, 2014 at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre at the age of 85 years. Mickey will forever remain alive and vibrant in the hearts of her beloved husband, Duncan, their children: Gail Andrews, Peggy Andrews and Rick (Lee) Andrews and grandchildren, Lehaina (Tom), Amanda (Jonathan), Nichelle and Taylor. Mickey was born and raised in Regina, SK, where she met and later married her husband in 1950. Together they lived in a number of small communities in SK until settling in Biggar, where they raised their family. The family relocated to Kamloops, BC in 1971 and then to Winnipeg in 1974. Mickey and Dunc moved back and forth between Kamloops and Manitoba a few times over the next 30 years until a final move to Winnipeg in 2005. Wherever Mickey went, she quickly made friends and continuously touched the lives of others who were captivated by her wit, humour, kindness and compassion. All who had the good fortune to meet her will lovingly remember her. The family would like to thank and acknowledge all of the staff at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre for the exceptional care given to Mickey and the continuous support to the family. Following a private family interment of her cremated remains, the family would like to extend an invitation to attend a memorial luncheon at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

Sincere condolences to the Andrews family. Mickey was a dear friend to my mother, Doreen (Proctor Aylward) Monson, and in turn to me. She and Dunc always made me feel so welcome in their home whenever I was there to visit. RIP, Mickey.
