SHANTELL ANNE SCHIPPERS February 29, 1984 August 15, 2014. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shantell on the afternoon of the 15th of August, 2014 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Shantell fought a brave and short struggle with cancer. An intensely loving and loved person, Shantell was surrounded by family and friends until the very end. Shantell is predeceased by her father Randy Richards, as well as Wayne and Grandma Richards, and Jason Kasprick. Adoring wife of husband Alfredo Flores Jr., mother of Hayden and Tianne Myers and Liam Shiells, daughter of Janine and Robert Kasprick, and granddaughter of Henk and Marcia Schippers. Survived by brothers Trevor Kasprick (Amber Renouf) and Joe Kasprick (Kristen Kasprick), best friend, who was like a sister, Kyla Towsley, and numerous close family and friends. The world has lost a bright star but we are all better for having basked in her light. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the GB-3 wing of the Health Sciences Centre, along with the palliative doctor and team, for their care and support of Shantell and her family during her final days. Shantell's service will be held at the Springs Church (725 Lagimodière Blvd.) at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014. Memorial donations can be made, in lieu of flowers, to The Winnipeg Humane Society. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

  • I met Shantell when I moved from up north and worked at Best West Pet Store in Selkirk. Even though she was young enough to be my daughter we hit if off like no age difference ever existed. Her love and strength for animal righteousness is what I respected her for. Her beauty and smile on her face was as infectious as any could be. Although we both moved on from the store after a short time, we continued to share the love for the animals. She was a very proud mother who would do anything for them. With a completely broken heart I send my sincere condolences to her small children, husband, parents and family. She was taken way too soon. I am missing her very much as the rest of world will too. Rest in peace Pretty Lady...xoxo - Posted by: Cher Smal (Friend/co worker..) on: Aug 19, 2014

  • I was blessed to meet Shantell when we were in elementary, She always had the warmest smile. She was always a delight. My favourite memory was the time we stayed up all night at school camp just so we could sneak out and bug the boys in the next camp. I'm honoured to have known you, and to have called you my friend. Your courage and strength was like no other, you were an angel here on earth before you became an angel in heaven. Memories last forever and I am so blessed to have the ones I do. May you rest peacefully beautiful. My deepest condolences to her family, friends and her beautiful children. - Posted by: Leanne Henaire (Friend) on: Aug 19, 2014

  • Shantell and I met in the 8th grade at Salisbury Morse Place,we instantly became friends even though we were both very different, something about her personality attracted me to her. From there we decided despite all our classmates going to Kildonan East that we would go to Miles Mac together because we knew that as long as we knew each other we would always have a friend. During our first year of high school Shantell moved in with me and my family for a bit, making it seem as if she were part of my family! From that moment on I knew she would always be a part of my life!!! We drifted as time went on, but these last few months we began talking again and it was as if we had never stopped! She hadn't changed a bit. She was still that fun loving honest soul I became attracted to as a dear friend in the 8th grade!! The world has lost an amazing person, but I truly believe her spirit lives on!! Rest In Peace Shantell you will be greatly missed! - Posted by: Ashley Glays (friend) on: Aug 19, 2014

  • I met Shantell when She was in grade 10 and I was in grade 12, We became friends, and Even though we have drifted apart over the years, I still consider her one of my best freinds. She stuck by me thru thick and thin, I don't think I could have survived the baby blues I suffered after the birth of my Daughter with out Shantell. She was there for me for any time day or night and for that I am grateful. I am going to miss her, and I am sad that we couldn't get together to catch up as planned. My heartfelt condolences go to her Husband and Children, and the rest of her family as well. She was a beautiful person inside and out and her memory will shine on bright forever. - Posted by: Erin Tokar (Old Friend) on: Aug 19, 2014
