Sincerest condolences to Wayne, Necole, Avril and to all our buddies who've been there from our Winnipeg "beginnings" in the 1960's. Ivan and Esme were true friends who enriched our lives right up to their passing and are sadly missed. I challenge family and friends they've left behind to keep alive the legacy of their loving spirits. - Posted by: Charles Taylor (Friend) on: Nov 09, 2014

My sympathies to such great childhood friends Nicole and Wayne. I have such great memories of your family. Your dad as well as mom were such joyous people. Always giving everyone they met a wave and a smile. May you take comfort in your memories of your dad and the knowledge that he made such a positive and loving imprint on those he met. - Posted by: Jane Tesluk McCarvill (former neighbor) on: Aug 27, 2014

My sincere sympathies to Avril Lake and to Ivan's children Wayne and Nicole. I had the pleasure of meeting Ivan almost two years ago and have visited him regularly for many months. He always impressed me with his strong faith and his ability to think of others first. He had a strong commitment to family. You have reason to be proud of Ivan. I feel fortunate to have known him. May God comfort you all! - Posted by: Lydia Ammeter (Volunteer with Hospice and Palliative Care ) on: Aug 25, 2014

Ivan was a GREAT neighbour and a wonderful person. I grew up living next door to Ivan and Esme, and later in life, after moving away from Ian Place, I was always greeted with a smile, wave and cheerful greeting from Ivan, whenever I came back home to visit my parents. As my parents aged, and had their own medical emergencies, it was Ivan who was always only a phone call away, and was there in a heartbeat to provide needed help and assistance to us. I will always remember Ivan with great affection, and I extend to Wayne and Necole (and also to Avril) my most heartfelt sympathies. Ivan was a gentle soul, someone who loved life and the people in it. He has left this world a better place than it was before. - Posted by: Dianne Englot Brockmeyer (was Ivan's neighbour) on: Aug 25, 2014
