Faron was first known to me as a student in a social/political studies class, in a senior high school. He was a bright student, with a sharp sense of humour. He went on to train as a teacher's aide, before becoming a fine instructor. With the passage of time, we lost contact, except for one brief encounter near Niji Makwa School, when he told me he had just returned from visiting his reserve. What a shame that so many tragedies afflicted him in recent years. I think of him as a really good guy and am happy to have known him. - Posted by: Ron Kirbyson (former Grade 12 teacher and friend) on: Aug 27, 2014

Rest Well Faron, your work on earth is done. So many people in Winnipeg mourn your loss and your spirit. You lived your life as you chose and we as a city were better for having you as one of our fellow citizens. My condolences to Faron's daughter and family and friends. - Posted by: Kerri (friend) on: Aug 26, 2014

I only met Faron Hall once a few years back and I was coming out of a fast food place on Marion and was just about to get into the van when he came up to me and asked if I knew who he was and then told me his name and I said I did know what he had done to save 3 people on 2 separate occasions and should be very proud of himself but I asked him to please look after himself as he is a caring person. He did ask for money and I knew what he was going to do with the money but gave it to him anyway and said MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND PLEASE TRY TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF and he said MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALSO AND THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I found him to be of a quiet nature and those 5 minutes I spoke to him have stuck in my mind and I am saddened that the river he could save people from was the same river he could NOT be saved from. Faron, may you R.I.P. now and see your family that has gone before and now you are at peace and happy and healthy. Take care dear sweet soul.
