• Jean was my mom for 56 years. It wasn't until I became a mom myself that I was able to appreciate the amazing mom she had been. Despite having 5 children she always made sure we had the chance to participate in lots of activities. Halloween costumes were handmade with love. In the early years, when money was tight my mom sewed us pretty party dresses made with floral flower bags. Towels came out of laundry detergent. I always felt special, and one way or another, we all got the Christmas gift we asked Santa for. My mom made many personal sacrifices so her children never went without. It was nice in recent years that my mom could treat herself to bingo whenever she wanted. She made Christmas a special time for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For the last few years, my mom told the same funny experiences over and over again. I would love to be able to listen to the same story for the 10th time still, if it meant my mom could have more time with us. • Grandma Jean was like a mom to me! I spent many years being raised by this wonderful and amazing women. She really was a modern day mother Teresa for the family and friends in her life!
