BONITA (BONNIE) RANSOME Bonita (Bonnie) Louise Ransome born December 14, 1945 in Toronto, Ontario passed away very peacefully September 1, 2014 at Neepawa Hospital. With heavy hearts her loving family announces her passing after an incredibly courageous and inspiring battle. Mom's strength, zest for life and unconditional LOVE of her family pushed her to fight for over four years. Mom married the love of her life Bryan on October 24 , 1964 and together they created her greatest joy...their four children Craig, Chris (Candace), Scott (Caroline) and Melanie (Barry). Family meant the world to Mom and her joy increased when she was blessed with her six loving grandchildren Mitchell (Allie), Brett, Riley, Shane, Hope and Laura. Mom will be sadly missed by her mother Caroline "Rae" Freeborn, sister Norma Sparling (Garry), many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and an abundance of friends. Mom was predeceased by her father Fred Freeborn, mother-in-law Hilda Ransome, father-in-law Lance Ransome Sr. and brother-in-law Lance Ransome. Mom raised her family primarily in Teulon, MB where she was a true sports enthusiast and the biggest fan for all of her children cheering them on during all of their sporting events. She worked at various places in Teulon while raising her family before moving into Winnipeg. In Winnipeg she found her dream job as a healthcare aide at Heritage Lodge which she was very proud of and spent several years thoroughly enjoying her co-workers and the residents every day. During semi-retirement mom moved to Plumas, MB where she purchased a restaurant in Gladstone, MB and operated it with her daughter. The highlight of her life was truly family; any activity that encompassed the family was something that she always looked forward to. Mom also had many pets that she loved and cared for. She never forgot about her horse Lady Luck that she had as a young girl and her dog Sasha who will miss her so much. Mom...You will always be missed and never forgotten. Everyone that knew you loved you very much. You are the most amazing person and the best Mother anyone could ever ask for. The strength that you showed was extremely inspirational and the love that you demonstrated will always be remembered. You are our Wife, Mother, Hero, and Best Friend. The angels gained an amazing person. LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER. Her family would like to express our sincere thank you to the always caring Dr. Poettcker, Dr. Milligan, the entire nursing and support staff at Neepawa Hospital, Gladstone Home care staff and the Gladstone Pharmacy. You made our mom feel so comfortable and well cared for and that was always appreciated. Funeral service and celebration of her life will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Crestview United Church, 316 Hamilton Ave. Winnipeg at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Honorary pallbearers Mitchell Furgala, Brett Furgala, Riley Furgala, Shane Ransome, Hope Ransome, and Laura Ransome.

I was very sad to hear of Bonnie's passing. My condolences go out to Bryan, Melanie, Scott, Chris, Craig, Grandma Freeborn and all whom were close to Bonnie. I will always remember Auntie Bonnie's vivid smile-simply put, when she smiled, she meant it. She had a fantastic sense of humour: I recall spending time in Teulon (with the family) as a child and having a great summer. I cannot think of a single time that she didn't come across as fair and kind--something rare in this day and age. I always felt a certain kinship with her, as she was the only family member that had more freckles than I did...well, it was a close call! I will remember her as someone who laughed from the gut; her face always lit up at the first sign of fun! Rest in peace, Auntie Bonnie. Darcy. - Posted by: Darcy S. (Nephew) on: May 11, 2017

We are very sad to hear of the passing of Bonnie. We worked together for many years in Teulon at Chicken Delight(Chef). I remember she always had laughing eyes, and a smile on her face. She was so happy in life. She certainly was a sports fan, we celebrated many Grey Cups together, "Go Bombers". She has always had a spot in our hearts, and leaves us with many happy memories to cherish. Our condolences and thoughts go out to her husband Bryon, and her family. Rest in Peace "Bon Bon" xoxo Kim - Posted by: Kim Cudmore(Leach) & Maxine Leach (friends & co-workers from Teulon, MB) on: Sep 08, 2014

We were great Pictionary partners. I will miss your smile, kindness, hugs and love that you showed to all those around you. You are gone but will never be forgotten.
