THERESE MELVINA FILLION (nee LA PIERRE) On Sunday, September 7, 2014 at the St. Boniface Hospital Therese Fillion passed away at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her parents Philman and Adelia (Choquette) La Piérre, her husband Aime Fillion and two sisters Adola La Piérre and Rita Lee and dear friend Ron Pantel. She leaves to mourn her passing her special friends Don and Shirley Pantel; Morden, MB, their daughter Sheila and her family, brother-in-law Ron Lee; London, Kentucky, and many family members from Aime's side of the family. Therese was born September 19, 1925, in Mariapolis, MB to Philmon and Adelia. She was the middle child, a family of three girls. Therese completed her grade 10 at Mariapolis High School in 1942 to 1943, then her parents moved to Winnipeg and she completed her schooling. On August 29, 1959, she married Aime Fillion in Winnipeg. She worked at Eaton's Mail Order before settling in with the C.N.R. at the downtown office in the accounting department retiring in 1990. She made many visits to see her sisters in the United States and enjoyed her holidays. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2014 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service also at the chapel. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A special thank you to the staff of Actionmarguerite for their caring support.
