Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPEARL KATHLEEN DESJARLAIS January 5, 1934 - September 2, 2014 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our lovely mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. She leaves to mourn her passing; Kenny (Faye), Bernice, Roseanne (Louis), Lorraine, Marcella, Vianna, Karen (Jim), Cynthia, Eldon (Denise), Farrell, and Heather. Sister Isabel Kent and brothers Barry McCorrister and George McCorrister, 44 grandchildren and 55 great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John (2013), son John (2009), her mother Lillian McCorrister and her father Henry Stanley Kipling, and her brothers Melvin and Albert. Mom worked various jobs, SS Kenora on Lake Winnipeg, Scanterbury Old Folks Home, Selkirk Fisheries, and Selkirk Mental Health Hospital where she retired. She later worked at Wa Wa Taik until it closed. Her greatest joy was having her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren visiting. She took pleasure with her word search puzzles and watching "Titanic" and "The Ten Commandments". In her many years, Mom contributed her life to look after children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. We would like to thank all the people and their families over the years who cared for Mom, as well as the doctors, nursing staff at Selkirk District General Hospital. Her current doctor, Dr. Demsas and the late Dr. Easton, staff at the Royal Bank in Selkirk and her care givers Roseanne, Vianna and Candace. In honour of her passing a wake will be held at the Private Tom Chief Memorial Hall on Wednesday, September 10 and Thursday, September 11, 2014. Funeral service will follow on Friday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ray Settee officiating. Pallbearers are Trevor Desjarlais, Gregory Desjarlais, Leonard Desjarlais, Eldon Ryan Chief, David Kent Jr. and Richard Desjarlais.
