VERONICA MRENA Peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2014 Veronica Mrena, aged 79 years, passed away at the Concordia Hospital. Veronica was predeceased by her husband Milan in 1988 and her parents Martin and Yanka Cedzo. She will be sadly missed by her children Chuck (Jacqueline) Mrena, Rick (Kimberly) Mrena, Susan (Marc) Luneau; grandchildren Kristin (Rithy), Erin (Christopher), James, Alexander, Jordan, Daria and Veronica's brother John (Irene) and niece Cindy Cedzo. Veronica was a very dedicated and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed her visits from her grandchildren and get-togethers. According to Veronica's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, September 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. 204-586-8044

When I and my husband came to Canada in 1968 Vierka and Milan Mrena and the rest of Czechoslovakian families who already lived here, took care of us. We are forever grateful to them for helping us to adjust to a new way of living. We celebrated our little wedding in their basement and Vierka, with three little children around her, cooked up a storm for wedding guests. She'll be forever in my heart and I'll be forever grateful. Her passing is a big loss to family, friends and the Czechoslovakian community here in Winnipeg. My deepest condolences.
